Fall Fun at Roba Family Farms!

The Ultimate Pumpkin Patch Experience

September 28, 2019

I'm originally from North East PA- Lackawanna County.  While, I'm a happy transplant to Montgomery County, there are a few things from home I miss.  Right up near the top of the list is Roba Family Farm (or as it's more commonly referred to back home, "Roba's"). I grew up going to Roba's for field trips, girl scout adventures, and as a teenager, fall wasn't complete until my friends and I completed the giant corn maze.  So when we started our family, Roba's quickly became a beloved tradition when visiting the grandparents.  This year we made the trip opening weekend for my daughter's last day of being two (coincidentally, 2 & under are FREE!) and, as always, we had a fantastic day.

In my family, fall isn't officially here until we make our trip to Roba's and have apple cider either hot or slushie style, weather dependent.  One of the things I love most about Roba's is they are always adding, changing, and growing from year to year.  Just when you think they have it all, they add in a brand new ropes climbing adventure course you never even knew was missing from your life.  Roba Family Farms has everything your family is looking for, all in one place.  Seriously, you won't find anything truly comparable for the price.

I say they have it all, I mean it. Roba's boasts:

  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Hayrides
  • Farm Animals
  • Face Painting
  • Massive Corn Maze (4.5 acres)
  • Kiddie Corn Maze
  • Live Entertainment (Magic Shows, Dog Shows, Pig Races, etc)
  • Cow Train Ride
  • Apple Cannon Range
  • Kids Coral Play Area with Giant Sandbox and Wooden Play Sets/Houses
  •  Human Foosball
  • Sports CenterThrowing Games (baseball, football & basketball)
  • Giant Jumpers
  • Giant Speed Slides
  • Go Cart Racing Track and one for Kiddies
  • Paintball
  • Low Ropes Grove
  • Pony Rides
  • Candy Cannon
  • Gem Mining
  • Educational Farming Information Area
  • Sundown Campfire with Smores
  • Gift Shop with Seasonal Decor and Plants
  • Apples for Purchase
  • Apple Cider and Apple Cider Donuts
  • Pavillion/Party Rentals
  • ...and more!

My personal favorite has always been the Mega Corn Maze.  Each year there is a new design, this year it's Marvel themed with the title "Who's Your Hero? ".  My hero is anyone who can make it out of that maze in under an hour!  When I say this thing is massive, I mean it.  Sitting on 4.5 acres they do not make it easy.  At the start you're given a sheet of paper you can make into a map.  Throughout the maze there are 11 stations where you can pick up a piece of the puzzle to complete you map & help navigate your way to the exit.  Each group is given a long flag pole to carry in the event you get lost & need help (or surrender) you can wave it & the spotter sitting high above the field will help you out.  You might be thinking "it can't really be that hard", or "it can't take most people THAT long to escape".  It is, it does- there are restrooms throughout the maze and even a rest area/snack shoppe with picnic tables in the middle.  Moral of the story, just the corn maze is worth the trip, come prepared, bring your best crew and have a blast!
