Here's a fun craft for the kids! It can be adapted to entertain a wide range of kids, from toddlers up to elementary!
What you'll need:
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Paper Clips
- String (yarn, twine, or thread will also work)
- Stick
- Magnet
- Stapler (Glue or Tape will also work)
- Kiddie Pool (not necessary, but adds a bit of fun!)
- Marker (optional)
How to make the fishing game:
- Cut out fish shaped pieces of construction paper
- Staple one paper clip in between two fish
- Connect a magnet to the stick with a string to make your fishing pole
- For older kids, add numbers to the fish
It's fishing time! Here are some ideas for play
- For our youngest friends, simply "catching" fish will be a treat!
- Sing fun fishing songs
- Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic by the "pond"
- For preschoolers, make a variety of colors and challenge your child to catch a specific color or number
- For elementary aged kids, turn fishing into a math lesson! Write numbers on fish. Call out a number and have kids catch fish that add up to that number (you can also practice subtraction, multiplication, and division)
