This week we had the opportunity to see Dasher's Lightshow Philadelphia and had the best time.  We were dazzled by tens of thousands of lights dancing before us and left my kids mesmerized. Since it's always better to see for yourself- check out a quick snippet of the show on our Instagram. The show was incredibly well done; below are my top reasons why we loved it.

1). Quality.

Let's face it- not all lightshows are created equally.  Dasher's was professionally done with state of the art LED equipment. From light tunnels, to singing elves, strings of lights, to beautiful trees- there is so much variety to see. Everything is timed to holiday and winter favorite songs and the state of the art equipment created interesting patterns on all of the displays.  My daughter said "the lights are dancing!"

2). Drive-thru.

I love holiday lights and experiences.  However, like many of you, I am not a fan of cold windy nights.  Rather than wait for a warmer evening, it was great to be able to drive through from the comfort (and warmth!) of our car on a night that fit our schedule.  Cars are asked to keep it below 7mph (go a bit slower to really take it all in) so your kids can pop out of their seats, roll down the windows, or stick their heads out of the sunroof! A drive-thru also means you can bring your own drinks and snacks to accommodate everyone's favorites without breaking the bank.

3). Night time event.

If you decide to attend, I recommend turning it into an event for your family.  We dressed in Christmas PJs, listened to holiday jingles on the way, and brought snacks.  My girls were up passed their bedtime and loving every minute of it- by the time we got to the show, they could hardly believe their eyes.  We've been playing "let's go to the lightshow" ever since.

4). Set to music.

I mentioned this above, but it warrants it's own section.  When you arrive, you'll be instructed to tune your radio in to their broadcast.  Every light in the place is programmed along with the music for a fully immersive experience.  And I mean all the lights, not just a few major displays; there are elves and snowmen singing along to "Let It Go" and snowflakes twinkling to "Holly Jolly Christmas". The synchronization was seamless and is what really made the experience a standout.  Also, since you're in your own car- feel free to sing along in a full family rendition without anyone else hearing!
