The weather is warming up and we have summer on our minds. This summer kids ages three and up have the opportunity to spend the summer dancing. Dance is a favorite activity of parents and kids for many reasons including muscle development, coordination, cooperative learning, discipline, and let's not forget burning off all that energy. Most importantly, dance is F-U-N!
Summer schedules can be hectic and we can't always commit to weekly activities. The Dance Effect Performing Arts Center has three wonderful options for varying schedules and interests. Summer Camps offer a one week emersion option. Dancers will be engaged in a creative theme all week long. Summer Camps offer an experience jam packed with fun and a memorable week of summer! Dancers who want to hone their craft may want to consider attending a summer dance workshop. Workshops are for a few hours one day- perfect for the on the go family who can't commit to a full week of activities. Finally, Crafterinas offer ultimate flexibility. These weekday events are drop in and drop off. Which means you can sign up in advance for a day of enchanted dancing with your favorite princess; or, if your your plans change last minute you can swing by for a few hours of fun!
Have a child who LOVES dance? In addition to special summer activities, The Dance Effect offers a range of weekly dance classes. Continue classes in one of two 6 week summer sessions!
Nothing says summer like camp. Kids attending dance camp are in for a real treat. These week-long camps run from 9-12 and offer a lunch bunch option. Each week is based on an engaging theme and let's just say, these are not like anything you'll find locally.
Camps
- Magical Madrigal Family. Every Encanto fan will enjoy this week! June 20-24 (two sessions: ages 3-6 or ages 6-10)
- Petite Pony Palooza. Your friends from My Little Pony will make this week extra special. June 27 - July 1 (ages 3-6)
- Figure it Out! This is a STEAM based three day mini-camp July 6-8 (ages 6-10)
- Dance Pawty. Dance along with your Paw Patrol friends. July 18-22 (ages 3-6)
- Wizard Tournament. Harry Potter fans rejoice! Dance, craft, and play quiddich. August 1-5 (ages 6-10)

Specialty Camps
- Unicorn and Mermaid Magic. Explore the magic of both the meadow and the sea throughout the week. We'll finish by meeting a live "unicorn"! Session includes mini unicorn photo shoot. June 25-29 (ages 3-8)
- Survivor Competition Camp. A week full of obstacle courses, a color war, a day of inflatable fun! July 11-15 (ages 6-10)
- Royal Tea Party. Spend the week dancing like royalty. At the end of the week there will be special visits from a few favorite princesses and a photo! August 8-12 (ages 3-8)

2-3 hour specialty workshops offer dancers a chance to hone their skills in a particular area. Workshops are designed for kids 5 and older.

Drop-in, drop-off one day events open to all. Participants will learn a few moves, complete a craft, and do a short performance! There are two Crafterina experiences- Classic and Enchanted. Enchanted Crafterinas include a visit from a real princess! Full dates and times coming soon.
