Looking for a dance class for your kiddo? Look no further! The Dance Effect Performing Arts Center in Spring City has options for all children- now starting at just 18 months old! Each year many parents choose to enroll their child in dance for a wide variety of reasons. Dance is great exercise, teaches discipline, develops gross motor skills and coordination, helps improve listening skills, gets kids socializing with peers, boosts self-confidence, and of course, gives a foundation of dance education. With so many attributes, it's no wonder there is a wealth of local options for dance education. So, why does my family choose TDE? Below are 4 great reasons that lead to our decision, but ultimately, it's quite simple- TDE treats my girls like family- it's our dance home. Any parent knows, finding a place not only your child feels comfortable, but you feel confident they are well cared for and loved is paramount to anything. There are also a few practical reasons we love TDE, let's talk about those first.
1). Short or Long Term Commitment Options.
There are two "tracks" available at the Dance Effect. Students can enroll in the Academy or a Discovery program. Academy classes include multiple styles of dance, students have multiple numbers in the spring recital, the cost of the recital is included, and it is a September-May commitment. Discovery track classes are 6-week sign ups. Students are encouraged to explore new styles of dance and have the option to continue session after session, try a different class, or pause/stop enrollment if it's not a fit for the child. Parents love this option because it's a short term commitment, but also gives enrollees the option to participate year round and have a stage performance.
2). Flexibility
Angelica Palmer is the owner of TDE, but she's also a mom who understands busy families. As a result, TDE has a variety of class times- including weekends and evenings to fit the needs of most families.
3). Affordability
Dance classes can be expensive, there's no denying that fact. However, TDE does it's best to help minimize the burden on families in a few ways. First, tuition is set at a reasonable rate. Included with every enrollment is a uniform (leotard or t-shirt); so, parents don't have to purchase before knowing if the student even likes dance. The Discovery track gives a short-term affordable option to try dance without jumping in on a bigger commitment. Finally, for those in the Academy, spring recital costs are included in tuition- so no surprise costs for costumes and fees at the end of the year. Discovery students are invited to participate in the recital as well, but there is an additional fee (Discovery classes are priced lower throughout the year). Both Academy and Discovery dancers participate in the Holiday Showcase for no additional cost.
There really is something for everyone at TDE. Boys and girls- babies to teens- casual or competitive- everyone has a place!
