Parents everywhere know the importance of water safety. Teaching kids to how to swim is not only a fun activity, it's also a survival skill. After a summer of building water confidence, it's a long, long wait from October until June. Young children will sometimes develop a fear of the water or regress in their comfort level. Kids who were just learning to swim independently and don't have an opportunity to practice those skills may be slow to regain their confidence next year. Signing up for swimming lessons is the perfect way to not only maintain progress made throughout the summer, but build on those skills. Swim classes throughout the winter also provides great exercise, weekly socialization and, with pool water at 90 degrees, you the ability to pretend it's still summer once a week! After a winter of swimming, your child will be even more prepared for summer 2023.
Recently, Kids First Swim School Plymouth Meeting was bought by a local couple who have a passion for swim education and are excited to meet and serve your family. Having a locally owned location means your child will benefit from both the nationally recognized Kids First Swim School system and the personal, family-oriented feel of a local business- with owners who truly care about your family and our community. The school is open and ready to welcome swimmers for a variety of programs. From adult to infant (babies and a care giver can get in the water as young as 2 months!) Kids First Swim School Plymouth Meeting has something for everyone.
When learning a new skill, consistency is key. Kids First Swim School Plymouth Meeting offers weekly classes with the same instructor. This allows students and their instructor to get to know each other, build trust, and allow the instructor to be in tuned to students as they progress.
- Mommy/Daddy and Me
Babies 2 months through 2 years and a caregiver are welcome to come experience water. Babies will work on primary skills of buoyancy, propulsion and breath control. Not to mention quality bonding time with their favorite grown up.
- Private Lessons
Beginning at 6 months of age through adults. Students receive one on one instruction with a highly trained staff member. You may even see two year olds swimming independently at the school!
- Small Group Lessons
Children 3 and up are welcome to join a weekly 30 minute swim class. Here they will learn in a small group format (teacher student ratio of 1:4). Children are grouped according to skill level and will have a consistent teacher each week.
- Semi Private Lessons
Groups of up to 3 swimmers and an instructor. Perfect for siblings or friends. Groups are made by registrants, not the school.
- Developmental Swim Team
Weekly class designed for swimmers who are considering swimming competitively or who are currently on a competitive swim team and are looking to improve technique on all four swim strokes.
- Adult Swim Class
Made for beginners, students will meet weekly and learn swim basics to independently swimming. Adults tend to learn faster than children, so this class is offered at an accelerated pace.
No Commitment Swim Opportunities
Weekly classes aren't always a great fit for every family. Kids First Swim School Plymouth Meeting offers a few opportunities to get into the pool throughout the year.
- Family Swim
Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1-2 the pool is open for your family to come for a swim. These are drop in, no registration required ($5/person or $15/family).
- Hourly Rentals
Available on Saturday or Sunday afternoons - swim only, no food. Lifeguard included. 25 swimmers max. Great for family or neighborhood get togethers!
- Birthday Parties
Fun awaits the birthday child with a swim party! Private rental with a lifeguard included.
