UPT Emergency Services Academy

August 11-15

The goal of this camp is to introduce the Cadets to the Emergency Services field. The UPT Emergency Services Academy Staff will introduce the Cadets to, or enhance their understanding of, Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership. All three of these elements are life skills that the Cadets will need for a career in emergency services as well as in their everyday lives.
Participation in the Academy will expose the Cadets to the challenges and physical rigors of a day in the life of an emergency responder. Emphasis will be placed on the need for teamwork, leadership, and effective communication. Cadets will find out first-hand what it physically and mentally takes to be a first responder. They will experience various aspects of police, fire, and EMS work, including a mock search and rescue, and visits from other local emergency services agencies. Cadets will finish the week with a graduation ceremony that parents are welcome to attend. Please be advised, camp will end early - shortly after graduation - on Friday, August 15th.
